I was surprised at the ruggedness of the radio. Many great features that the majority of radios don't have. The remote control panel takes it over the top.

I am also using this a base station. Big signal with the 50 watt TX power. Best of all reasonably priced.

    Zastone D9000 Dual-Band Radio

Posted by Mike Shepherd on 2022 Feb 24th

Only has this radio a couple days, but so far so good. Pros: - Exceptional transmit audio, as commented to me during contacts. - Easily programmed with the downloadable software - took me only minutes to setup a couple dozen channels. - Multi-color LCD backlight can create almost any color to suit your needs. - Menu is fairly easy to navigate. - Separate TX/RX indicators on both control head and mic. - Multiple mic and control head connection options - makes for a very flexible installation. And a second mic can be connected to the unused jack. - Control head is magnetically attached to its bracket. Good for quickly removing the head for security purposes if using the radio in a vehicle. Cons: - Mic does have a light and plasticy feel to it. Might need to take care not to bash it around. - Mic hanger is "glued" with double-sided tape. No screw holes offered (could be modified). This could be an issue when mobile as most adhesives don't like hot or cold extremes. - The magnetic mounting points are a little loose on the bracket - the right side of the head slides up and down easily. Not sure why as the points on both the head and bracket are identically sized. Not an issue as a base radio, but that could make the head prone to rattling/vibration when mobile. I took a bit of a chance on this radio, originally looking for a cheaper Anytone dual-bander. However, this radio was available instead, and it has many more features than the Anytone I had my eye on. This is my primary base radio now, having replaced both an Icom 2100H and a Yaesu FTM-100DR (both have issues). Time shall tell, but if all goes well, I intend to have this radio for the long haul.
