Very quick delivery....... EASY to set-up . Tuning very close to the manual description, minor adjustment depending on surroundings. Used a Nano VNA analyser the first time and follow those recorded settings , 1.2 SWR all bands. Very satisfied Limited portable outings Logbook shows over 12 DX countries into EUROPE with less than 17 watts on 20 meters. Looking forward to better band condition ........... ENJOY

    Metric bolt setting

Posted by Don Poaps on 2022 Aug 25th

I used the Alpha Antenna Jaw and clamped the antenna to a medal picnic table here at the Burnaby Radio Saturday coffee get together. I used it with my Xiegu G 90 and Icom 7100 all from battery. JS8Call and voice. I've loaned this portable out to other hams and they love it ability to pack it in pack. The metric if I remember is M10 x 16. I use a bolt to screw into the antenna.

This is a great quality Antenna made from good quality materials. Comes with a carry case and radials, tuning coil and extension rods. Works very well on 40, 20, 17, 15 and 10 meters. I transmit and receive signals from Laval which is North of Montreal to Florida, Puerto Rico, France, England, Slovania etc, all on 20 Watts. I highly recommend this antenna which can be mounted within 10 minutes and this supplier!!!

    This antenna uses Metric threads

Posted by Michael VE3WMB on 2022 Jan 21st

An update on my previous review .. the threading used on all of the antenna components, including the ground spike is not imperial, it is metric. I have confirmed that it is M10-1.5, thus making it incompatible with the 3/8-24 treading used on most Amateur and CB antennas. I had great luck with this antenna operating portable over the summer of 2021. - VE3WMB

    JPC-12 portable vertical antenna

Posted by Jacques Hurabielle on 2021 Nov 15th

Excellent vendor, prompt and very professionnal. I highly recommed! The antenna is well built and should last a long time given a modicum of care. Putting it together is very easy and assembly is rapid. I used it with 10 quarter wave radials -- two each for the following bands: 40, 20, 17, 12, and 10 meters. I achieved very low SWR on 40, 30, 20, 17, 15, 12, 11, and 10 meters without any difficulty. HOWEVER, you need to reduce the antenna length for 15, 12, 11, and 10 meters. On these four bands, matching could not be achieved with the coil attached. However, excellent match was obtained by removing the coil and retracting some of the upper whip sections, as required. The antenna then works like a telescopic whip on top of the four mast sections. The antenna is perfectly usable without a tuner of any sort. This said, an analyzer or a nanoVNA greatly facilitates setup. So far, I am extremely pleased with the product ...

    Great little portable antenna

Posted by Michael Babineau on 2021 Aug 16th

I finally got my JPC-12 out in the field and after a couple of days of operation at 5 watts on CW I can say that this antenna works quite well, even on 40m. I have previous experience with Buddipole and Buddistick antennas (this antenna is similar to the Buddistick) and I can say that the quality is comparable. It is worth mentioning that the threading on the joints isn't the "standard" 3/8-24 that is common on Ham and CB mobile antennas. It does seem to be 3/8 inch but the threading is coarser, probably more like 16 TPI instead of the usual 24 TPI. Practically this just means that you want to make sure that you check all of the joints for tightness before operating as a partial CCW turn on any joint could make it seem a bit wobbly. Overall I would say that this antenna provides decent performance in a very compact package at a reasonable price and I would highly recommend it. What I do really like is how small this antenna is when disassembled (backpackable) and how quickly it goes together (10 minutes tops). - VE3WMB
