    578 plus

Posted by Kevin Larsen on 2023 Aug 15th

I love this radio with 1 exception. First the good… It is quite an easy radio to learn. All the functions can be controlled with the microphone except volume. I find the mic easier to navigate the settings than the actual controls on the radio itself. I use this radio commercially and when I am at a site and have to take the repeater off the air, I can set the radio up to cross band vhf traffic out onto uhf to keep repeater traffic flowing through the 578. The AM receive is awesome. I deal a lot with helicopters and being able to listen to Air to Air traffic is very handy. My only complaint is the LCD display. It is too small and would be nice if they built it with a larger display. I have ordered the Bluetooth mic which may rectify this complaint. I have played with the DMR aspects of this radio but I didn’t purchase it for its digital capabilities. This is an added bonus as I do have a DMR Ham repeater operating locally and this radio works fine when I talk thru it. All in all, this radio is my go-to radio now in my service truck. It is a perfect match for what I need in a radio. I wish I could have bought it years ago!!

    Anytone 578 III

I just put this radio in my truck. I bought it for the DMR capability but it might get quite complicated to program all the digital channels I’d need for covering most of Canada and the USA. But I actually love it for analog. I can program repeaters by state, or group the simplex frequencies using zones. The mic has most of the radio controls on it which is convenient. So far I love the radio.

    Keeps rebooting on scan

Posted by Don on 2021 Nov 1st

When I set the radio to scan a zone, it reboots every few hours, I submitted a ticket but did not get any reply... The radio has lots of great features and would be the best DMR on the market if it was supported and actually put out the power advertised... Because it keeps rebooting in scan mode, and no support and about 10% lower power than advertised I give it a 3... If it did not reboot, and I got a reply when submitting a ticket and if it produced 50W I would give it a 10 out of 5 if I could...
